CSI : 45 Wyndham edition

So last night was shaping up to be pretty uneventful, lying on the couch bathed in the glow of either playstation or dreamcast.

I was at the mall returning some stuff and I turn on to our street only to have a cop come pull in front of me and tell me that I can't go through "there's been an accident.." he tells me.

And sure enough the angle of the evening sun and the ability of a mountain bike to now reach speeds in excess of warp, had collided quite literally in front of our neighbours house.

A car was making a left turn at the corner of our street, and the driver was blinded by the glare of the sun, now I know I've had this happen and it sucks because you can't judge distance or make out anything in front of you for a few seconds. Well poor guy out of the glare a girl comes rocketing down the hill at the top of our street and slams into the side of the car. I mean slams, there was no attempt or ability to brake in time and she went head first into the car.

So last night was an odd sort of gathering of the neighbours as we stood around and got to watch a real-life episode of CSI, cameras chalking the road and one cop decided to try and recreate the speed of the mountain bike by driving his car full-tilt down the hill and slamming on the brakes.
